A balanced Y-connected load?
A balanced Y-connected load is connected at the end of a three phase generator as
shown in Figure Q1. The line impedance is Zline = 0.12 + j0.09ohms. The total power to
the balanced load is 6912 Watts and the phase voltage at the load is 120 Volts. Using
the single phase equivalent circuit, calculate:
(a) The phase current at the load, Ia
(b) The generator phase voltage, EAN and the generator line voltage, EBC.
Notes: i) Assume positive sequences and select ‘Van’ at the load as reference.
ii) All the answers must be in polar form (magnitude and angle) and in 2 decimal
places.
