AMC Box office agent return free movie ticket slip, can I reuse it?

According to a Call Center Agent at AMC Entertainment, when they were transferring points from an old card to a new Movie Watcher card the system skipped a reward because it didn’t transfer all the points.

Per their instructions I went to my local AMC theater and they added the points and a three ticket-like slips printed out.

The Customer Service Agent at the Theater said my reward was a Large Drink AND Popcorn OR Free Movie Ticket. Of course the Free Ticket said Not valid on Special Engagements. But I decided to try.

I went to the Box Office and asked for one admission to Harry Potter later tonight. I handed the BO Agent my ticket slip with the reward and My Movie Watcher Card. He pressed a few buttons and the computer accepted the free pass. Weird since it said Harry Potter is a Special Engagement being as it only was released yesterday.

Anyway as I walked away with my admission ticket and my reciepts that looks just like an admission ticket, two receipts were for $.50 off candy, but under my Movie Watcher Card was another receipt or so I thought – It was another ticket-like slip and it was the Movie Watcher Free Large Drink AND Popcorn or Free Movie Ticket.

I guess the box office Agent gave me back my reward slip by accident.

So can I use it again? I think they’d figure out that it’s been used for a free movie before, but what about the Concession Drink and Popcorn? I’ve never seen the concession stand scan an AMC Movie Watcher Card before. I know Regal does, but don’t recall AMC doing it. Since there’s no barcode how would concession know?

If I can use it, since I spend a lot of money and time at this theater I consider it a nice little extra reward, even though I don’t think it was accidental, and it was the same Box office Agent tonight that helped me before with a Free ticket through Movie Watcher last time. I even asked him about the Special Engagement restriction and he said don’t worry about it.

    Okay, so there are a couple of things that may have happened during your visit. When you handed the box office cashier your “Extra Offer” coupon, as we call it at the theaters, he then selects the movie you would like to see. When he selected Harry Potter his computer notified him that this film was a special engagement and he should not proceed with the transaction. Since this is the same cashier who previously assisted you, he probably just wanted to ensure you received a GREAT experience this time with no more problems, so he proceeded with the transaction. Now, his terminal would now be missing a “special engagement valid coupon”, but is no worries for you. On to this second “extra offer” coupon. If this coupon was printed again, it is probably just a delay in the system updating that you already received it (no big deal for you) and you can use the coupon all over again. But, if you believe he accidentally handed you back the coupon then there is still a chance you can still use it. If the coupon is still attached completely, not torn or written on (as a way to void it) then the coupon is good to use either as another free movie ticket or at the concession stand! If you are uncertain, don’t be afraid to ask. AMC wouldn’t want you to miss out on a coupon just because you aren’t sure. Simply ask for a manager or supervisor and explain what happened, and they will be more than happy to help you out!
