Hi – I’m not sure I understand your question – do you mean, instead of using a key, you use a barcode?
That’s the same as using a key – there are 1000′s of barcodes availabe – SSCC, 128 bit, etc etc – I don’t think that would be a great idea – I think fingerprints would be better.

Many Motels use auto door locks and bar codes on cards much like your atm or credit card.
At work we use bar codes for locking information in.
