Ballet Class???????!!!!?

Ballet Class???????!!!!?

I’m 13, and this year I’ve been taking my first ballet classes. I don’t really like them, because their sooo unproffesional. Like last week, this girl called another girl a F’n B!tch, in the ballet class!!!! And also, we have a dress code, black leotard, pink tights, ballet slippers, shorts/skirts, and I went and bought those things for almost 0, and all of the other girls are just wearing baggy t-shirts and shorts and some soccer socks or something. And people keep pretending to fall when their at the barre, and when they do pirouettes. I thought ballet was supposed to be a discipline, and it was supposed to be classy?? What should I do about this. Should I continue going to these classes, or sign up into a different studio?

wow you really need to switch ballet classes.
you are totally right, that is really unprofessional.

Diffidently switch studios and this might sound weird but, you’ll have more fun with ballet when its under discipline.

Pretending to fall at the barre? thats horrible!

your ballet instructor should be fired.

you need to find a ballet school that SPECIALIZES in ballet and it also helps if your teacher is a ballet examiner, like my school.

good luck and i know you can do MUCH better!

yikes!!! that is not at all what ballet should be like. the teacher clearly cannot control her students. If you are really fond of the teacher, you may wish to speak with her about the subject and see if she can give you private lessons. if this is not possible, or if you would like to actually be dancing with other girls (which is totally understandable) you should definitely switch studios. check google maps or yellow pages online to find a local studios in your area. this time i would ask the studio owner if you could sit in on the classes you’ll be taking and just watch. this way, you’ll be able to see how the class is run, and what will be required of you. good luck!!!

The clothing that you describe them wearing is normally acceptable for jazz class, but NOT for ballet class. It sounds like this studio is mostly for recreational dancers who don’t really care. Go to a different studio. You will be so much happier if you do. It is not worth spending the money for classes at a dance studio that is unprofessional.

if your really unhappy with it, try going to another ballet school. i dnt no where u live, so i cant recommend any.

be warned though, if you move, your new school mite be worse than the old one. i go to a fairly relaxed school and wouldnt want it any other way. also you might find that at a new, deciplined school, the hours could be longer, and the girls could be meaner. Maybe try making some friends at your current one, or really try and focus on what the eacher is telling you to do.
