Bar code scanning game?

Bar code scanning game?
I remember a while ago, when I was younger, there was this ad on TV for a hand held game that resembled a bar code scanner.
You would scan bar codes and would get a virtual creature. Then you could connect two of them and battle.

Anyone remember this? If you know what is was called or where I could get one? Thanks for the help!

Are you thinking of Skannerz? I believe it was by Radica (which makes the 20 questions game and a bunch of other electronic handhelds).
