how do barcode systems work?
Best answer:
ha well m not sure how they wok something bout the numbers at the botton adding up the computerial value of the lines but i do know a funny thing to do in a super market if ur bored get a back marker and mark all the things in someones shopping trolly, put a extra line in black marker on the bar code, really screws things up at the check out ; )
if ur feeling really mean u can do that so one item in the trolly then do that to all of that item on the shelve the watch the shop assistants running around trying to find a bar code to scan
mean, but funny
(also really gd fun take the stuffed animals an put them in the freazer, faces pressed against the glass, also a laugh)
hoped this helped an if not its a bit of a laugh xxx

Hello.
Basically all barcode scanners do is replace manual input with automatic input (hence, automatic ID is what it is called). So any application where you can type something in, you can scan it in. Think of it as another peripheral to your computer system. Now the barcodes scanner reads the light and dark from the barcode and turns that into an algorithym. That gets decoded and sent onto the computer in keyboard emulation or raw data. That data then populates your software. I hope that helps! Feel free to ask me more about it.
