  It’s a different idea, but at the same time, it’s very a “consumerism” type of idea. In the end, its up to you. Think about whether or not you want to have that tatoo when you’re 80. If the answer is still yes, go for it.

  I really like the idea though!

  Here is what I say unless you lived in some form of dark angel fantasty, the barcode tattoo is out.Just get a simple yet elegent tattoo or something more manley if you like.But please no barcode tattoo.Plus you probably hate having to explain the meaning behind getting that tattoo in the first place.

  right im not telling you to have it done or not but before you set your hopes on it i must tell you a few things about barcode tattoos they are; a decent tattooist wont do it because they don’t last, barcode tattos tend to lose their sharpness very fast and will end up looking like a patchy black square but if youreally must get one seek for a very good tattooist so that it gives it the best chance of staying sharpher longer

  I looked at the picture before i read what you wrote and at first i was like “wtf is thepoint of this?”then i saw the parents bdays thing and i now think its a very cute idea. Are you gonna get it just all black? Just a suggestion- but i think tht if you got your moms bday in her favorite color and then your dads bday in his favorite color that that would look really nice, it would also add to the meaning a little bit.   I work at a tattoo parlour and I actually got asked about that today ! we have done it on a few people, make sure you really really want it, if you are not so sure don’t have it on ur neck cause its visible all the time unless ur wearing a polar neck :P

  I wouldn’t suggest getting one…
  I got one about a year and a half ago (I wasn’t legal and it was really sketchy..) but it does turn into a black rectangle and most tattoo artists that I’ve talked to afterwards wouldn’t even conisder doing a barcode, and suggested just doing something over it something wooden etc. that would have the same types of lines to cover it up.

  I do love the idea and if it were to work I’d do it 1000 times over, and it does actually scan…but I don’t think it’s worth it..

  my ex has this done, it says never bought never sold with his SS# for the numbers i always thought it was pretty GAY but thats your deal
