Can anyone explain the differences between ERP and EAI. They both try to accomplish similar objectives, is it how they are made, or more what they do?

EAI (Enterprise Application Integration) and Enterprise resource planning (ERP) are somewhat realted, but you can thing of EAI as a verb and ERP as a noun.

EAI is a generic term for the process of integrating together various enterprise applications like supply chain, customer relationship management, human resources, etc.

ERP is used to refer to the system of integrated enterprise applications. It’s usually used in reference to a pre-made system provided from one supplier.

I go with Daniel. To be very precise, ERP is just one single platform of the similar application. EAI is to create a platform of all unrelated applications by relating them using technologies like ESB, SOA etc.
