can barcode readers scan barcodes in side boxes?

Actually in our company we have our products packed in carton boxes. products inside them will have individual bar coded serial number. can bar code readers can be used the scan these bar codes without damaging the carton boxes. please reply

    The readers are not going to damage anything but the bar code on the outside might not be the same as the individual ones on the inside….

    If your asking if the barcode reader can scan the items INSIDE the box with out opening the box…no it cant do that! It has to be direct “line of sight”.

    Barcode scanners only read the surface.

    If the barcode’s INSIDE a box it can’t be read. You’ll have to put the barcodes OUTSIDE.
