Can barcodes set off the alarm?
Can barcodes set off the alarm?
u know at the store? i know that there is the metal strip they put on some items, but if a barcode goes inscanned, can it set off the alarm?
haha no im not stealing anything i no it sounds like a strange question lol
Best answer:
Not a regular old bar code – the metal strips are little sensors that are picked up by the anti-shoplifting system. The bar code like on a can of soup does nothing to set off an alarm

If your planning on doing anything illegal I suggest you don’t. But barcodes do set the alarm off. Well atleast I think so. Its probably not worth trying anything. If I offended you by assuming that you were trying to do something while you were really not oops. But the question does souond a little fishy.

nope. It isn’t magnetic or electronic it is just printed on the item.

no barcodes do not set off the alarm
it usually is a magnetic strip of some kind, in electronics usually its stuck to somewhere around the box, if not its inside.
