Can I get some legit help about the National ID Card having RFID.?

I’m doing a research paper about the Real ID, I;m trying to find out if the national id card will be somethng like a tracking device. It’s called RFID (RADIO FREQUENCY IDENTIFICATION). The only info I got so far is from the Department of Homeland Security which states: The NPRM (Notice of Proposed Rule Making and Order) does not specify the use of RFID card as a minimum standard. States may independently choose to implement an RFID solution, in addition to the standard 2-D barcode, to meet thier constituent’s needs. (DHS 2/28/08) The date is so close for these cards to start being issued (71 days, 22 hours, 17 minutes) I was wondering if anyone one on Yahoo Answers can direct me to some legitimate up to date or schalorly resources
Oh yeah to get the count down date go to: ncsl.org/realid/

That is the basic rule. There are minimums the Real Id has to satisfy, and RFID strictly speaking isn’t in it, although if there hadn’t been hew and cry about it I’m pretty sure it would have been put into regulations.

DHS recently worked out a pilot program w/ New York when the governor there was talking about issueing licenses to illegal immigrants. The compromise was to have 3 classes of licenses. Regular; illegal immigrant licenses; and Real ID compliant. The illegal immigrant activist organizations killed it (so far) because under that scheme it would be very obvious that whomever had the lesser form of license was illegally here. However, they had pretty detailed plans and specifications worked out for what would satisfy REal ID. There had been DHS releases on it at that time last year. I don’t think it had RFID.

Vote for Ron Paul and legalize the Constitution.

The REAL ID deadline is not May 2008, its May 2011

“People born on or after December 1, 1964, will have to obtain a REAL ID by December 1, 2014. Those born before December 1, 1964, will have until December 1, 2017 to obtain their REAL ID.”

The REAL ID is just another step in the New World Order.

No, they dropped the RFID requirement from the REAL ID act.

    Read the entire bill.

First its REAL ID, then they force everyone to subject to an RFID implant or something similar. Then they take away the guns, then extermination of 80% of the worlds population, while the elite control it all.

its not a tracking device really. you need a rfid scanner to read the RFID transmission (they are expensive and bulky), and even if you have one the transmission is encoded so that your scanner must have the code to be able to read the information. All new US passports have RFID chips in them, most stores (like rite aid, walgreens, etc) have rfid stickers in the stores to track inventory and theft. also, clothing stores are not picking up the trend (like express or gap have those giant tags) which are used for the same reason….i took a class on RFID….the list of rfid uses goes on and on….i think the book was “The gift of fire” or something like that. you pretty much have to search for multiple sources to get the whole scope of rfid because most people only focus on a certain area of it.
