Can you check baggage on JetBlue Airlines?
Can you check baggage on JetBlue Airlines?
I was wondering if they had a policy on checked baggage. I was hoping to check 2 bags. Also, it explains that it is a ticketless airline. Does that mean I have to have my itinerary and barcode printed out? Or am I able to go to the check in desk to check my baggage and receive a boarding pass?

Let me talk about the ticketless airline first. Your reservation number (PNR) is in their sysem already. When you get to the ticket counter, just show them your ID and tell them where you are flying to. They will just pull up your name and give you a boarding pass. Be careful, the boarding pass looks like a sales receipt!! Or if you have that PNR in your email, you can check in online from your house 24 hours before your flight at https://www.jetblue.com/manageflights/checkin/ and follow the on screen prompts. Your third option to check in is to use the kiosk machines at the terminal if you know your PNR as well.
Here is the baggage policy: You can check in 1 bag for free, $20 for the second bag, $75 for the third and any additional bags. Bags must weigh 50lbs or less or it’s a $50 overweight fee for anything 51 – 70 lbs and then $100 from 71-99 and they don’t accept any bags over 100 lbs.
To get around paying the $20 for the second bag, put all your liquids and gels in the bag you will check in for free. Then take that second bag to the gate and “gate check” it. It’s still going to get put under the plane and you will save $20. Just make sure it will fit through the X-ray machine at the checkpoint and that it adheres to TSA’s rules for carry on.
