can you tell me if the scotch bubble mailer’s UPC code on the envelope can be picked up by the USPS?
can you tell me if the scotch bubble mailer’s UPC code on the envelope can be picked up by the USPS scanners when mailing to any location?
Best answer:
I highly doubt it because of the fact it is made especially to mail packages and if it would interfere with anything then they wouldn’t put it on the package. I am also pretty sure that USPS scans their own stickers by HAND so they don’t just push it through a machine to do the work.

USPS uses automated scanning of packages in many locations. However, although they may look similar, the UPC style barcode is slightly different than the UCC/EAN 128 barcode, The newer barcode that is replacing the UCC/EAN 128, PostNet barcode or IM barcode. So, even if picked up, it would be garbage info to our system and simply discarded.

No the Scotch Bubble Mailer’s UPC code will not be picked up by USPS scanners. If there was not sufficient postage on the bubble mailer, then the bubble mailer will be returned to the sender. If there was no postage on the mailer, if there was no return address, etc, then the envelope will be thrown in the trash can.
