Cheap Barcode Scanner to Catalog My Books?
Cheap Barcode Scanner to Catalog My Books?
I have a huge library of books and am looking for a barcode scanner that comes with software so that I can make an inventory list.
I already know of librarything.com but I’m not interested in doing this inventory online.
Just something simple and inexpensive, please.
Thanks.

I don’t know anything about barcode scanners but I helped manage a book store for a while.
The simplest way to keep track of it to just make up a database of the ISBNs. You can program it to show you the name, author, publishing date, genre, etc.
Then you won’t end up with the risk of damaging a book or having to worry about hooking up any new hardware.
If you want to still go with the scanner idea I did a little research and found this for about .

Hi Korrie Ann! EpicPOS.com carries a number of different barcode scanners. I don’t know how many books you are planning on scanning, but since you have to hold each one to scan the barcode, one really affordable and simple solution is a wand scanner. This one (epicpos.com/unitech-ms100.html) is USB so, it is basically a plug and play model. Good luck!
