Computer Mal-ware help!?
I need a free malware remover program! Hi, my computer is a gateway. It has an amd anthlon (I dont know specs, but I know its good) It has 3.5 Gigabytes of ram, and runs windows vista 32 bit. Well lately my computer has been running very slow. Slow on start up, and just running basic programs. It has never ran this slow before. Sometimes when I start my computer it just stops and freezes at the gateway symbol. I beleive I have some sort of malware issue. I am looking for a free malware scanner/ a program that will remove any malware/ viruses I have. Thank you.

Best answer:

Download malwarebytes and superantispyware then run scans with both.
Superantispyware download.cnet.com/SuperAntiSpyware-Free-Edition/3000-8022_4-10523889.html?tag=mncol
Malwarebytes download.cnet.com/Malwarebytes-Anti-Malware/3000-8022_4-10804572.html?tag=mncol
Combo fix an extremely Powerful tool. Use as a last resort. bleepingcomputer.com/combofix/how-to-use-combofix
Can’t install or run Malwarebytes
Rename the mbam-setup.exe if installation fails.
Rename the mbam.exe if the program installs but doesn’t run.
Start in Safe-mode with Networking if program fails to install run or update.(Hit F8 key repeatedly when computer is starting after a reboot)

I think it’s to soon to assume malware, you may just have too many programs loading and running at start-up. Open task manager, if you have more than 60 processes running that’s probably too many and probably means there are a lot of unnecessary ones

To clean your PC of malware. After installing and updating, run a full scan in safe mode with the following three.

    1) First install, update and run “Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware” Free Edition
    malwarebytes.org/mbam.php

    2) Second install, update and run “SUPERAntiSpyware” Free Edition
    superantispyware.com/superantispywarefreevspro.html

    3) Then run a full scan with your antivirus.

Avira free or Avast free, and Microsoft Essentials are three excellent antivirus programs. If you use AVG free version this is not acceptable as it does not remove Rootkits.
