Do barcodes set off alarms at walmart?
Do barcodes set off alarms at walmart?
(This is for my school project on stealing, NOT REALLY GOING TO DO IT!)
Ok, say you were going to steal something small…like nail polish or lip gloss. Do barcodes set off the alarms there? (And if you know, do they have heavy securate?) How would you steal the small product?
Best answer:
If it’s truly for a school project – do your own work!! If you want to steal something – don’t!

no, you could just slip the small product in your pocket or in a sleeve. i think wal mart actually passed this thing allowing people to steal studd that was under 20 meaning they wouldn’t press charges.

no, they put special things in certain items like cds, movies, condoms, they have to be scanned over somehting else to deactivate them. if they do have this device the alarm goes off when you walk past it and usually they have an employee at the door that will check your receipt and if you don’t have one then they will call the cops.

small stuff is humiliatingly easy to steal just pocket it and buy something else so you don’t look suspicious and walk right on out.

Yes, those things you walk through have a special thing in them that lets them know if the item was scanned or not. So if you tried to steal something it’d set off that alarm, and someone would come up to. To ask to take out,and give whatever you took to them. Sometimes they ban you permanently from the store. Kinda amusing though, because I watched someone try to walk off with hundreds of dollars worth of stuff in their cart.
