yes. that is one reason i don’t buy any meat products or milk products from grocery stores.instead opting for buying it directly from our neighbors.they use free range animals without all of the cloning technologies.

Yes. It would provide transparency. Free market advocates will say that it is our choice whether or not to buy the product, however some of us will change our minds if we know what is actually in the product. There is nothing wrong with making them label their products; it isn’t an insane regulation and it won’t cost any jobs.

No, it presents no health hazard, however, seed that has been genetically altered should be labeled as it is coded for very limited or non existent ability to produce seed stock.

Yes I want to know exactly what I am eating. If an Atlantic Salmon has been modified to have genes that aren’t those of an Atlantic Salmon it shouldn’t be labeled Atlantic Salmon.

Only if there is reasonable evidence to show it has health risks, otherwise no.

The market is already taken care of the issue, as many companies are already promoting non-genetically altered food.

    Yes. I want to know.

No I don’t believe that the food companies should have to conform to the current populist paranoia du jour
Just so you guys know :All of the food that Americans eat has been genetically modified in one way or another.

    No.

The label should only be there if there is an identifiable difference in quality, taste or safety.

We have been egenticially modifying food for thousands of years. The only difference is that what we are doing today is no longer random and haphazard.

Of course. I cannot believe ANY American would say “no” to this.

People have a RIGHT to know what they are eating. It is not YOUR decision to tell me, “Oh, it won’t harm you.”

Sez WHO? The as$wipes selling me the food?

I do not WANT a tomato with a fish gene in it. And I have the RIGHT to not buy it. The only power we really have is in our wallets and purses – in our choices of what we purchase, or more importantly, perhaps – what we do NOT purchase.

How can I make these choices if I’m not given all the facts?

Good question. Should pot be legalized?

  • 13. Grand Theft Pants™ The 9th  |  February 15th, 2011 at 3:31 pm

    Should they? Yes.

    Should it be “required”? No.

  • 14. Free To Be Free  |  February 15th, 2011 at 3:36 pm

    No.

However, I do believe that food companies SHOULD have the right to label products that are NOT genetically modified. Believe or not, they’re not allowed to do that.
