Does a scan of a bar code work just the same?

Does a scan of a bar code work just the same?
I have a bar code on a store card. I want to photo copy it and give it to my love ones. It’s completely legal. In fact, the store gave me 4, but I want to send a pdf or image copy and send it via e-mail to them.

Best answer:

That should work – however I would verify that the store will accept a photo copy.

A copy of a bar code should work. But maybe it would be just as easy to mail your friends the original card. This would prevent any confusion at the register about not accepting copies of cards or things like that.

It may be legal, but its also suspicious. Copying a barcode is a scam that customers run in my area, for illegal intentions. Its also a red flag for me. The shoplifters have taught me well, and what to look for. Be careful how you use it. Your probably not even talking bout the same thing I think you are, but……..anyways
