Does a wireless printer, fax, scanner, copier need to connect to a phone line or does it connect to dsl router?
I have dsl service with AT&T with wireless router modem and I need to know before I buy an all in one copier, scanner, fax if it needs a phone cord or does it connect to the wireless router.

Best answer:

To use the FAX capability, it needs a phone line connection.

Everything else works through the router.

it will connect to your wireless access point. if your dsl router is also a wireless access point, then you are fine.

To fax over a phone line, you will need a phone line. Depending on the printer, you might be able to fax over your wifi. some services like faxzero let you fax for free online. i don’t know the printer, so i don’t know if yours can do this.
