Does anyone know of a cheap, preferably American made radio scanner?
I don’t need too much, just something to keep up on the police and CB traffic in my area. Since I’m out in the boondocks I need something with real power, also preferrably handheld for on the go. Not mobile but handheld. Any suggestions and prices will be appreciated.

The best of all is Radio shack , after that there is a another European maker by the name of SEBASTIANI&KIR the name of CB wich comes with larg GB is KIR2KUNAT , good luck and enjoy it.

Cheap and American made? That’s funny. The cheapest scanners I’ve seen where at Radio Shack starting around 150 dollars. You could try yard sales. They go for 10 to 25 dollars
