Ebay questions..How to get started?
i just sold my first item yesterday i have a few questions is it cheaper and more convenient to print labels using pay pal or usps i used paypal for the first time and thought the fees were a bit high. My package sold for .00 i use paypal to print label and the total was .76+19 cents plus fees came to .94 for a 3oz small package using first class mail i was reading all the negative reviews from ebay sellers having to pay all this fees on paypal so i wonder if is cheaper just to print labels on usps or go to my local post office? Also i received my paypal debit card would it be a good idea to activate it if im thinking of selling items on ebay?
When i take my package to Post Office do i ask for them to scan the DC barcode at the counter? i took my package and the woman at the counter just said “OK youre set” and set my package aside. Im also Thinking about buying a postal scale and some shipping supplies to get started i am starting with smaller items to see how it goes I want sell on ebay part time but with all this fees dont even know if i will be receving much profit so dont know if its worth it … Please be kind lol any tips advice will be appreciated

Buy a postal scale and order some FREE Priority Mail boxes from the USPS web site. They will be delivered to your home.
The easier they make it for you, the more you get nickel and dimed to death. If you have the time, do most of the work yourself and save on these extraneous fees. The listing, final value fees, and PayPal fees are bad enough. In short, the more you do yourself without the middleman, the greater your profits.

Why would you need a debit card as a seller?

It is cheaper to order through Click-N-Ship, which is the post office’s system. If you use USPS.com you actually get a discount of 5 to 10 cents, and you get FREE delivery confirmation, a 70 cent value. Also, if you choose priority mail flat rate boxes/envelopes to send your items, you can order priority supplies including but not limited to boxes, envelopes, stickers, labels, et c. free of charge on USPS.com. They will even mail them to your house at no cost to you.
Hope this helps.

My only advice is to please, for your buyers’ sake, ship with UPS or FedEX. It seems like every single time I get anything shipped by USPS that’s bigger than a DVD case, they manage to fu.ck it up somehow.
