Good way to keep track of peoples’ orders that come into me? ( i have ebay xbox repair business)?
I am staring an xbox repair business. I will have xbox’s coming and going, so i need to keep track in an easy way. How so? should i just write a number on a stickie and put it on there? (like the white rectangle ones) and put the same number in my computer? or is there an easier way? i would love to have a barcode system, but i dont have that much money to invest, and I dont know how to use it. thanks :)

Create an inventory number system and keep track of days in service. The number should be the serial number so you do not mix them up. Keep track of this information on an Excel document by renaming some of the columns into; 1) Name 2) Serial number, 3) Date shipped, and 4) What the problem is and if it was fixed. Try to keep them as little as possible for faster shipping back

It might be better to use a tie on label – if it is sticky enough to not come off, it might be difficult to remove without leaving an unsightly mark. Then use a spreadsheet to keep track of the location, repair status and cost incurred. At a pinch you could use a word processing table but that wouldn’t give you as much scope for sequencing / prioritising your jobs in progress.
