On my google search engine there is a barcode where the google logo used to be
why?

It’s the annerversity of the invention of the barcode, they’ll have the regular logo back up soon.

today is the invention of the barcode anniversary day. they do that for other random holidays too. where have you been man?

they change the logo every day or 2. if you hover your mouse over it, it should tell you.

As others say, Google changes its logo to represent something special about that day, like for holidays, a famous person’s birthday, the day something was invented, etc.
If you hover your mouse over the logo, it will display the significance, in this case, “Invention of the Bar Code”.
And if you run this barcode on a barcode scanner, it will reveal the barcode to be encoded in Code 128 text and it actually reads “Google”.

Today is the 57th anniversary of when the barcode was invented,that’s why one is up there.Punch in when was the barcode was invented, at the top of the page should be:Bar Codes- The history of Bar Code.That should answer you question and tell you all about it.Okay?

whenever in the future, you see Google’s logo is not there, just scroll over it and it’ll tell what so special about today
Google always do this kind of stuff and it’s cool

You can always click the logo and find out why it is what it is.
Its usually interesting.

Today is the invention of the barcode and Google is celebrating it! In barcode language that’s Google! Plus Google gets a cool new picture every couple of days so yay Google!
