has anyone ever had to replace…?
the BNC stock antenna that comes with a police scanner or handheld CB and does anyone know whether or not there would be a significant change in reception if I were to purchase a BNC to TNC adapter and attach the antenna off of an old wireless router that uses a TNC antenna connection?
Best answer:
you should first see that frequency band difference if both are same you can try otherwise it is not going to do any improvement .
and if you are keeping in your home better use external antenna and install it on the roof top, it will give better reception for sure

It will suck.
The router antenna is optimized for 2.4 Ghz.
You will want a wide band antenna for the bands you are interested in on a radio scanner.
