HELP! male and female dog not gtin along?

Well my cousins came over with a male dog and i have a female. I guess mine is in heat because the male is smelling her, following her, and is having a “boner”. So sometimes she would growl at him, get herself on top of his neck, bites his tail, and circle around him. But when it comes to food or water they are ok and the female yelps not because she’s hurt, she wants him away. When she’s away from him, she wants him to come back! The male is soon going to stay here for a week so i need advice! What can I do to stop both of them from getting one another pissed? and what are they feeling?

    Walk the dogs on leashes close to each other, and also maybe put one in the crate and let the other one sniff it and under doors too

    Either take her and have her FIXED while he is there or keep them apart the entire time and I mean the entire time. She’s being snappy because she’s not ready to be mounted yet but she will be. That or tell your cousins you can’t watch their dog.

    You have three options pick one.

    If you keep him there do not feed them together or let them out. If she has a crate put her in it and in your room away from him when you can or vice versa. Otherwise you will end up with a litter on your hands or an appt for a spay/abort procedure.

    my dogs are the opposite,they are ok with sex but when it comes to food they will tear eachother up!

    i would say your dog is nearly in heat. have her fixed if you don’t want puppies. because it seems your cousions dog is very intrested. other than that these aren’t them fighting they are just doing a pre-courtship sort of thing…..
