how data is stored in a barcode?
how data is stored in a barcode?
the bar code used for products…
Best answer:
the data is not stored on the barcode but the barcode is merely a number. This number then is registered in the store system in which the product details are entered for that barcode.

visually,
Bar codes are merely a visual representation of a number.
the scanner detects the number and width of the black vertical lines to determine what number they represent.
that number is then sent into a processing system where it is compared to records in a database of some kind. When the record represented by the number the bar code provided is found, the necessary information about that product is loaded into the terminal that scaned the bar code.
that is how the supermarket register knows that it just scanned a can of soup and that is called “Chicken Noodle” and cost 59 cents.

Barcode is similar to fingerprint, the lenght and width of the bars contain information which is decoded by a barcode reader and input to a computer…

The barcode tells you how to get to the data.
