How do I get Windows XP to detect my IBM register?

How do I get Windows XP to detect my IBM register?
Hello. I have an IBM 4694-246 register and recently reinstalled Windows XP on it. Now, I cannot run any POS software because Windows does not detect the ports on the back where the printer, scanner, and pole display connect to. I cannot find the drivers on IBM’s website. Any advice?
I am referring to the SI/O and PoweredUSB ports on the back. Not the COM and LTP ports.

Best answer:

are you referring to the COM ports or Serial Ports on the back?

If you can’t find the right Windows drivers manually I would recommend just getting a software program that can do it for you. There is a program I use which will find drivers for just about all hardware devices. The best part is it takes a snapshot of your system specifications and matches the right driver to go with it. Perform a free driver scan at:
    drivers-updates.net/drivers/windows-vista-drivers.html
Also, you can get the driver from the official site:
    update.microsoft.com/microsoftupdate/v6/default.aspx?ln=en

See when IBM produced these POS they created these ports at the back and made them accessible through Programing interfaces. So if you are interested in building your own POS software, IBM has manuals for that. Other than that you can try to find one thats already built for your need. Or if you can find third party drivers for these machines.
    Hope this helps.
