How do I install a Canon scanner to a PC with Mozilla Firefox?

My scanner is Canon model N670U and I received it yesterday.
I tried to load the software in the CD-ROM drive and to use my PC’s “Add New Hardware” device, but although I have the right
USB cord, nothing happened.

    ok then just install the driver first by the cd and then connect the scanner but you have to get sure that all the driver and accessories programs are installed…….

    Don’t plug the printer into the computer yet until the install wizard tells you to.
    Go to Start, My Computer > CD Drive (F, D, E, etc….) and then if the software doens’t load, look for something on the CD containing “install”.

    what does your web browser have to do with your canon scanner?

    first try plugging it into another computer to make sure that it is not your canon that is on the fritz. if it works on another computer then

    try going to the device manager (should be in the control panel where you found that add hardware option on your computer) and uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers if you can.

    if that does not work, uninstall everything completely and then reinstall. then plug in the canon

    Your Mozilla Firefox does not have a thing to do with whether or not a Canon scanner will connect with your PC. Your OPERATING SYSTEM DOES. Do you use Windows XP or Vista? Either one of these presents some problems in getting things to work properly. And both require new drivers for just about everything.

    As of 2005, Canon provided no drivers for this X64 scanner. And it is recommended only for:
    ScanGear CS-U for Mac OS X ( 8.6 to 9X); Mac OS X (Classic mode only);
    ScanGear CS-U for Windows 98/Me/2000 Professional
