I organize them alphabetically on the shelves and use these free web sites to track them (they are also searchable). They use both titles and bar codes since many movies come in different DVD versions, so bar codes are the only way to be sure you are talking about the same discs.

Bar coding is not practical. The best I think is Microsoft access database. Follow the library book coding system which is very practical and easy to study. Go to the nearest library and meet the librarian to get the knowledge. No cost!. Microsoft access 2005 has a built in database for this type of work
