How does USPS online postage work?
How does USPS online postage work?
Okay, so I’m a simple Ebay seller…I’m tired of dealing directly with the USPS people, because they apparently think I “ship too much” (though I know that’s their job, yes…and the reason why they are there). They always have an attitude, and frankly, I’d like to start doing everything online.
I usually ship with delivery confirmation, which I see is available on the USPS website where you can print the postage. So it prints a barcode of some type, I tape this onto my package (small bubble wrap envelope) and put it where? Do I drop it with the general letters, or do I still have to go hand it over to one of the employees?

Funny I get the exact same attitude from some employees at my Post Office, you would think with all their losses they would be glad to see people using their services! And all I do is drop off prepaid packages and occasionally buy stamps! Ingrates!
You will have to hand your packages (unless they are small less than I think 13oz which can be dropped in a box) to your carrier or go into the Post Office.
I don’t print my labels through the USPS but go through PayPal. When you sell an item simply click the “Print Shipping Label” link in eBay and it will hopefully take you to PayPal. (You can print directly through eBay and that may be your default which can be turned off in account settings, PayPal is easier.) You fill out the form with where it will be sent (if not from same zip code as your home address), the size of the package if applicable and the weight. You can add insurance and if you use Priority the tracking number is free. If you use another service you will be charged 19 cents which is still cheap.
