How Does USPS Ship? By Address or Barcode?

Do they ship by the address written on the package or by the scan the barcode label they print and put and stick on the top right corner?

    The barcode should be of the zip code to the city where the package is being sent.

    The Postnet barcode, which contains the zip code, is what is used to sort the mail to the correct zone, then the address is used to get the mail to the correct location.
