How to fix a usb port?

I have a little board on the front of my computer with an audio output, a microphone in, 1 firewire, and 2 usb ports. My 2 usb ports broke. It is possible to somehow solder them back on? My circuit board’s bar code (the numbers under the barcode) said “142678 REV.A” On the front it said “2001 Compaq SM I/O Panel CMT/SDT”

I do not want to attach a usb PCI card.

    I don’t understand “broke”

I would suggest a card reader be installed in your PC

If you mean physically broke, yes, provided you have a soldering iron.
It may be simpler to call HP support and ask them for a replaceable board.
