how to make what’s behind the desktop icon labels transparent?

how to make what’s behind the desktop icon labels transparent?

The words under the desktop icons are highlighted in white, how do i fix this?

the words look as if i highlighted them with my mouse, leaving the words in white, & the background behind the words pale

i want to make the background behind the word’s transparent so the desktop background can be seen, instead of a black/blue/ or any other color

i’ve already tried checking & unchecking the shadows thing when you right click my computer, go to advanced, etc

Iconoid 3.09 can make your desktop icon backgrounds transparent and it can also
    - hide your desktop icons when your cursor is not on the desktop so that you can see your desktop wallpaper,
    - save and restore icon positions and Hide windows quickly
    - it is free too and can be download at http://www.sillysot.com/iconoid.zip

After installation, turn off “view my active desktop as a web page” or the active desktop feature in Display, Control Panel. Start Iconoid, color tab will have the option to turn on transparent icon text background.
    Hope this help.
