How to read a bar code on a package?
I purchased a cosmetic product from Ebay and it appears to be old. Does anyone know how to read a bar code to determine the date on the back of the package? Here is what the bar code numbers looks like 0 41554 67510 8.
Thanks

I’d have to see the actually bars and know the encryption used in order to decrypt it.

That looks like a Universal Product Code (UPC), which means the number you are seeing is exactly whats encoded into the bar code. This is just a unique number that identifies the product and doesn’t tell you anything about when it was manufactured. There might be an expiration date somewhere else on the package.

you cannot determine the age of a product by the barcode. all the barcode is,is this: 0 = extra number for use in the future, 41554 = company id number (revlon,Clairol etc…) 67510 = product ID number (lipstick, maroon blah blah blah) 8= digit commonly used by retailers in their inventory system to categorize items, often un used.

The bar code is NOT a date code. It is a unique number that Identifies a product and manufacturer.
Product date codes may be printed or embossed into the cardboard and can be a set of numbers or in a date format. There is no standard to date codes so one manufacturer can print month and year while another may indicate a two digit year followed by a Julian date (number of days since JAN 1).
