How to return a Ipod without a receipt and upgrade?

I got an Ipod Touch 4th Gen 8GB for Christmas. The problem is that my parents bought it through ebay and there is no way to return it. The Ipod is brand new still in the packaging and I would love to just pay the difference for a 32GB. Any suggestions other then selling it on Ebay since I can’t think of a store that will take it without a receipt? (I already tried Walmart and the UPC code wouldn’t show up in their database)

    You can try posting an ad on the bulletin board at your local grocery store, if you want to sell it.

    There is no way any +vendor will accept it without a receipt.For all they know it could be stolen. The only option you have is to sell it and then buy the new one.
