HP Printer help!!!?
I do not remember what type it was, its a HP Laser Jet one.

It copies, and prints, but when I hit “scan” it tries, and after a minute says that the USB cord is not connected. The USB to connect it to my computer works (obviously since it can print) so I do not know why it says that.

BUT when I insert a new ink jet, it prints a paper out and tells me to put it on the scanner so it can scan the information. And it works then. But not when I try to scan a photo or paper. any help

You need to add the scanner driver on your computer. Figure out the model number (Should be on a lable on the back or bottom of the printer) and do a google search for the driver. Do you have a Mac or PC? Make sure you get the correct driver.

    Computer tech here….Some HP printers are known to have some common flaws. Hewlett Packard has provided patches for such common flaws that you are experiencing on their Support website. Go there and select for the model that you have and it will list some of the updated drivers, patches and software for it. Download them and get them installed as per instructions carefully. The CD that came with your printer may already be outdated. Those on their Support website are newer than what is on your printer CD. The model number is located on the front just under Hewlett Packard’s name or you can find that on the face of the CD that came with your printer. Good luck and hope this helps.
