i have a 1986 bronco 2 V6 2.9L
i have a 1986 bronco 2 V6 2.9L i had just replaced the whole clutch assembly flywheel, disk, pressure plate, throwout barring. ialso just replaced the whole sending unit/fuel pump assembly that drops into the gas tank. i drove my car for approximently 50 mile before it started hesitated and stalled on me. my uncle suggested somthing is wrong with the engine electrical which i know nothing about. i hooked up a ford code scanner and it read me two codes 22, and 122 which means the MAP sensor out of self test range, and throttle positioning sensor circuit below minimum voltage. so i replaced both sensors yet it runs a little better. whats happening is the car will run yet when it obtains normal running tempature it will run for a few more miniutes before stalling again. then i think i may of read the second code wrong instead of 122 it could have been 12 then 11. 12 meaning can not controll rpm during self -test high rpm check. 11 being system pass. i need advise. new fuelfilter as well

Best answer:

IAC (Idle Air Contol ) is usally the result of this code. Check for a vacuum leak and sometimes the IAC can be removed and cleaned out using a brake/caburator solvent sprayed into it but no guarentee it will always work. This usally only has effect for idle and and not causing it to die when driving. I am suspecting fuel pump because you replaced it and did not mention a concern before you replaced it. Check your fuel pressure regulator also, it has a vacuum line attached to it. Unplg it and make sure the diaphragm is not leaking fuel into the vacuum system. I want to suggest to run a fuel pressure test with manual gauge so you can read it when this concern starts. If pressure reads ok then be sure to check for spark to the plugs, PIP and Module have known to cause this also when getting hot and can be itermittent. PIP is located inside your distributor and ICM is mounted on the side of the dist. Know this sounds like alot but trying to help you in the right direction. If can help anymore then please let me know.
Have a great day.
