I have HP COLOR LASER JET 2840 now display shows scanning bulb warming up and not getting ready&scanner motor?
Scanner motor doesn’t stop where it should be and moves to the end so gear gets slipped and a sound coming out At the start. Scanner moves backward & forward. But finally moves to the end. Can any one suggest a solution to this problem so that I can fix it. Is there any programe in menu mode by which the problem can be fixed?

    this problem is not from motor . scanner’s have a home position part when scanner mirror’s are dirty scanner can not find the home position and doe’s not stop . if you can open your scanner . then clean your scanner unit mirror’s
    ADF (see Replacing the ADF)

    ? Right rear cover (see Removing the right rear cover)
