If I were to copy a barcode would the copy still work the same as the original barcode?

at every scanner yes, but some bar codes (like on dvds and cds) have a little chip that sets off alarms… a scan or copy wouldn’t be able to have any of these advanced features, but as far as scanning the bar code goes, yes it’ll do the exact same thing as the original

Yes, it will, as long as you copy it in black ink on white paper. Some machines will read barcodes in colors but most aren’t that sensitive so stick to good old black and white.

In most cases yes, except for the case Andrew D stated and if the paper has invisible markings that will only show up when the code has been scanned.

Old Lady is not exactly correct – this applies if you are using an very old photo copier..

This method is often used to prevent cheque duplicating.

When you copy some cheques and restricted ducuments, lettering (such as VOID, ILLEGAL COPY) and/or the area will be blacked out.

Best not to copy these codes – if you are caught the penalty for fraudulent use of the codes can be quite steep.

    Good Luck
