I’m looking for a program/app to catalog my personal book library (see description for requirements).?

Can you recommend something? I need it to:
–Be free or inexpensive (and if paid, I’ll pay only once, I don’t want monthly/annual fees)
–Work in a Windows OS (or be OS-independent)
–Support input of books via scanning their barcode with a webcam
–Interface with Amazon.com, etc., to populate data fields
–Allow for customizable fields
–Allow export of data in various formats (spreadsheet/csv etc.)
[--Allow cloud storage/access from anywhere (like in Google Docs or something similar). The software itself does not need to be web-based (in fact, I'd rather it weren't), but I'd like to be able to access the data from anywhere (this is pretty much a given if the previous requirement is met, since I can store a .csv or .pdf in Google Docs)]
And if that isn’t asking too much, it’d be nice to have the option of creating more than one library, for example, if I decide to catalog our DVDs after I’m done with my books :)
Any recommendations would be helpful, and the one that meets the most of my criteria is the favorite!!! Thanks for reading my long list of specifications ;)
@Colanth and @rusty math : I know that such programs/apps DO exist. I had done extensive research, took notes on several products to compare them, and then misplaced my notes. After looking and looking, I finally gave up on retrieving my notes, and began my research all over again. (I can’t remember the names of the ones I decided were top contenders before, but I thought for sure if I did my search again, I’d find/recognize them. Turns out I can’t remember at all…) Of the programs/apps that I AM finding, there a couple that that meet all of my requirements with one (non-negotiable) exception: they’re for Mac OSes only. I believe there HAS to be something out there that will work in Windows!
@aussieone : Thanks for the information about Readerware; that one did come up in my research and it is currently a contender (I’ve read some good things about it, and the price is not bad given all the features!). I would want to back up my data file, but I understand you’re not certain your trouble was the program’s fault or perhaps your own… I appreciate your input; thanks!

Even for part of that list, you’d have to write the program yourself. (Then you could sell it and make a bundle, even at a few bucks a pop.)

If you want to catalog only, this is easy with several tools to choose from that have been around for a while now. If you want to store the entire content of your library in a cloud environment, check out the latest Azure programs available from Microsoft. Incredible tools are already in place. Just be creative on how to combine or synchronize these tools. What you are asking for would need to come from a magician rather than an application. Nice try though.

I’m going through the same thing at the moment and by coincidence I’d researched previously and lost my notes too, but they would have been outdated now anyway.
I keep coming back to Readerware which has three separate databases for books, music and video, it interfaces with Amazon – I’ve just uploaded an old .csv file to it and was able to update all the books via Amazon.
I did have a problem with the previous backup zip that I (thought) I’d saved from the last time I tried this programme but that may have been me, I misplaced a few things after a crash. It wouldn’t open what I thought was the saved backup.
Readerware is a pay programme not freeware, 30 day trial.
I’m still trying this one and looking for others so will be interested to see if you have any other suggestions BTW I’m using Windows 7

    EDIT
well I don’t know what is going on – just opened my free trial and instead of being on day 8 of 30, it’s now telling me I’m on day 1500 of 30 and won’t let me in – don’t know if it’s somehow picked up something from old saved file I loaded, although it certainly wasn’t 1500 days ago that I first tried it -

makes you a bit wary about handing over money when the free trial does strange things
