  It also says the mark would be on your forehead or right hand, not on the groceries, so you’re clutching at straws, really.

  The Bible did not say barcodes. As the technology was limited at the time the author envisioned a simple mark to be used as identification.

  What we have here is a lack of understanding of how to interpret the Bible. The Bible teaches in I Corinthians 2:13 that we are to ‘compare spiritual things with spiritual.’

  The “mark of the beast,” spoken of in the Book of Revelation, is a figurative mark. It typifies all of those who belong to Satan. Revelation 14:1 says that God’s children will have His name written on their foreheads. This, too, will be a figurative mark, and not literal.

  You can still make bow and arrow, and drink from the streams and rivers, if you want to follow a 1st century BCE religion, why not live like it was those days too and ignore our technological advancements

  Well, actually the Scriptures state that in order to be able to work
  or to buy goods, you would need to have the “mark”. Antichrist is
  coming FIRST before the true Christ gathers back to us for any reason.
  “Anti” in the Greek means “instead of”. Antichrist is coming “instead of Christ”. He will be disguised as and pretending to be the true Christ,
  but he will be the fake. People expect the Devil to come murdering people and torturing people, so when he comes looking like that picture
  of jesus that Granny has on her wall, and he is loving, kind, and comes
  as preacher/teacher/savior, playing that jesus role to the very hilt, then
  the mass majority will be deceived and believe the fake is actually
  the true Christ. People will HAPPILY receive his mark, not knowing
  but that thankfully the true Christ came to save us from any bad tribulation to happen. The Churches will fall all over each other to worship and serve the fake.
  The mark will not be ON your forehead but IN IT. What is in your
  forehead? YOUR BRAIN. And where it says “or your right hand”,
  thats a Greek Idiom (figure of speech) that simply means “doing the
  work of”. The masses will believe he is the real Christ returned, so
  they will receive his mark thinking they are being sealed of God, and
  they will also possess the mark in their right hand, meaning they will
  be doing his work for him, gladly, happily, and thinking they are serving
  Christ himself. Then the true Christ returns, and they will wish for
  rocks to fall on them rather than face the true Christ, because rather
  than listening to the simplicity in which Christ taught, they listened
  to some man. Those preachers who teach the rapture doctrine, tell
  people they don’t have to understand prophecy because they will be
  raptured, are already set up for deceit, because they think the first
  “jesus” who comes on the scene is the true one, here to rapture them
  to safety. They’ll be raptured allright – right smack into the arms of
  Antichrist in the Great deception. The Mark is simply whether you
  are deceived and believe the fake is the true Christ, or whether you
  know the fake is coming first and refuse to acknowledge him.
  If you are still in your flesh body, its a fake jesus; when the true Christ
  returns, all will be instantly changed into spiritual bodies. Don’t forget
  that. Also – don’t worry too much about food and water: the reign
  of Antichrist was shortened in Mark 13 down from a total of 7 years,
  to a total of a five month period (Rev 9). God is more than able to
  protect and care for all those who refuse the fake jesus. He tells you
  that not one hair on your head will be harmed, as long as you don’t
  believe a lie, it cannot affect you. Antichrist has orders not to touch
  even one of Gods children. Only the two witnesses will be physically
  killed. All other dead you read of in Revelation and the Prophets are
  SPIRITUALLY DEAD, not physically dead. Why are they spiritually dead? Well, because they’v all turned into a bunch of devil worshippers!
