Infrared light question?

At school yesterday i was in the library because i am an aide in there and one of my friend flashed the barcode scanner in my face. she like moved her arm up in an arc kind of and it just flashed across my face for maybe 1 or 1 1/2 seconds, not even that. i saw the light, but i didn’t stare at it. will i have damage to my eyes or get cancer? also i scanned my arm and face on a copy machine, will that get me sick or cancer?

    Why did you do these if you are so worried about cancer?

    But don’t worry, neither of these could cause any harm. Although the light from a Zerox machine is close to being bright enough to damage your eyes, so don’t make a habit of it. Ditto with the IR from a scanner.
