There is no harm looking at it from a distance. But putting your eyes directly to it in a close distance may be harmful.

Avoid looking at any laser, especially directly into it. Ask your eye doctor.

Yes.
It can lead to blindness.
There is usually a Warning Sticker telling you not to do it.
(Ironically, this sticker is often placed on the inside of the device… right next to the laser.)
If you look at the laser for about 20-30 minutes, you will get a dull headache that refuses to go away.
Your eyes will burn.
You will see green spots wherever you look.
These symptoms may last for a day or more.
