Is there a template for a POS System for MS Access in a Restaurant version?

Is there a template for a POS System for MS Access in a Restaurant version?

I would like to find a template for Microsoft Access so that I can control my restaurant using a POS-based system. Thanks.

    Anthony:

Access is not the most stable database/application out there. It may work just fine if you have only a single terminal, but you may find that it crashes a bit too often if you have two or more stations AND you run a fairly high volume at certain times of the week. Another point to consider is PCI compliance… the credit card industry is rightfully strict about how CC data is stored.

There are some really inexpensive Restaurant POS systems out there. Many of them store the data in an MS SQL Server express database (the DB is free) or another open source/stable DB. I resell restaurant software that is really full featured and costs $599 per station. If you have a really simple operation, you might be able to find something even cheaper (in the $250 to $350 range). I really think you will be far better off with a true POS application rather than an MS Access template.

Regardless of what you decided, I do hope you see much success with your restaurant.
