is there an alphanumeric character that a barcode scanner would read as the Tab or Enter key?
the p.o.s. at my job requires one to enter a 4 digit i.d., press Tab or Enter, enter a password, press Tab or Enter, enter a 2 digit rep number and press Tab or Enter every time before a transaction. i am trying to figure a way one could scan a barcode that would have those numbers with a character the scanner would read as a Tab or Enter key stroke.

It’s relatively easy to create a code (ex. 123) that translates into the key strokes you want. But that would entail the POS software having the ability to translate a bar code into key strokes. Can your POS software translate bar codes into key strokes?
