Laser went in eye, straining/burning in left eye?
Hello, I was at church before yesterday where a full grown man with five children was playing around with a red laser pointer. It was night and I’m sure the laser brushed past my eye which is why I turned around and saw it in his hand. I didn’t really notice anything that night or the next morning, but in the afternoon I began noticing a moderate discomfort around the centre of my left eye, it is a straining/burning feeling. I know a normal laser wouldn’t have done anything, but if it was a powerful laser and it caused permanent damage, wouldn’t I have noticed the pain immediately or the next morning? I don’t think it could’ve been from something else earlier that day, the most light I would have come across is the light from the photocopier in the library or the barcode scanner in the gym, and I don’t have any previous eye problems. Today being the next morning, it is still there. I woke up not really noticing it much, but now it seems to be getting worse with short bursts of pain.
Best answer:
Those lasers have no effect on the human eye unless you stare into it for a long period of time like any light source. Maybe you should see an eye doc cause something else maybe wrong.

I would go to the Dr or the Optometrist for an eye check up. The laser pointer will not hurt you so either you have maybe got stuff in your eye, but flushing it out will let you know if there is something there. If it is still there afterwards then you may have something else in it. Either way the eye Dr will be able to look at it and tell you. My eyes get like that but it is from being tired. Good luck. :)
