Miniature line by line scanners for research: is there such a thing?
Are there such things as tiny scanners the size of a barcode scanner or less that will help one doing research. In my case there are a lot of sentences from a book of Aristotle’s writings that I want to transfer into Microsoft Word. If you know of a means of doing this I would appreciate it
Best answer:
A flatbed scanner will capture the text for you just fine. Scan at a high resolution and OCR or import into Word from there.

Do a Yahoo! search for “handheld scanner” and you’ll get a lot of responses.
