my motorola backflip keeps restarting why?

i recently got the back flip also. and mine also restarts. it really annoying and it take a while for it to turn back on. if i were you, i would go to the store you bought it from and see whats causing it to be doing this.

    I’ve become quite annoyed with the Backflip because I too, have been having restarting problems.

    I’ve done some research and I found out that it can be a number of different things.. The main causes are:

    1) Camera forces phone to reboot.

    2) Using the keyboard or typing a text message will randomly cause a reboot.

    3) Having tons of applications running slows down the phone while its also trying to collect data from all the applications. Sometimes this causes a reboot.

    4) When pressing hard anywhere around the “J” key area, the phone sometimes restarts. This is because it sometimes pushes the battery out of place and causes a reboot.

    5) In addition to #4, the battery cover has been known to easily become loose, causing the battery to quickly pop out and back in, causing a reboot.

    As for fixes, you might want to take a look at the forums. I took a look at your installed application list, and it looks like you don’t have a task killer. Please check out my favorite one called, “Advanced Task Killer”. Its free, and it allows you to see what applications are running, shows how much memory is left (Virtual memory, not actual data. If the number is very low, it’s because your phone has too much stuff running), and most importantly, it allows you to “kill” the application.

    Anyways, I hope this helped! The Android 2.1 update for the Backflip should be coming out Q3 of this year, and it should hopefully fix all of the problems we are having. Good luck!
