Need suggestion for open source POS that supports a barcode reader?

Need suggestion for open source POS that supports a barcode reader?
As stated in the question, I need a GPL’ish point of sale app that will work with a barcode reader. A barcode reader suggestion(hardware) would be nice as well.

It needs to be deployed for a mom and pop beer store….(hippie town) lots of odd beers coming and going.

Linux and php related matters only. No winpoop.
Open Source applications will one day rule the world.

thanks for reading my question

I doubt you’ll find a free one that will meet your needs.
Best to probably code it yourself. MS RULES!

I am not sure what to tell you about linux packages. However, you might check out intellitrack.com . One of their modules will work for a Mom and Pop c-store. I can get you a discount on Intellitrack as well.

Keyboard wedge and USB barcode readers will work for you. Take a look at the Symbol ones on my site… The Symbol LS2208 is probably what you are looking for. We can provide a reconditioned LS6004 for $95 as well. Here is the link to all of the scanners.

    Hope this helps,
