OK. I’ve hacked (mod) my :CueCat, now what?
I had a Digital Convergence :CueCat but the bundled software wouldn’t work with XP. I found a site that told me how to make the mod so it would work like any other UPC Bar Code reader. I just had to lift a pin on one of the chips. I did this and have it plugged in. Now what software do I need to use? I wave it in front of a UPC code and nothing happens. Thanks.
Found my answer. If anyone else has an old CueCat (Radio Shack was once giving them away) and can’t use them because they are no longer supported, this works great. 1st Go Here: members.aol.com/cuecatguy/ and do the physical mod. Then download CatNip (google it) and use these instructions: cedmagic.com/cuecat/cuecat.html
Use can go to Google’s home page and scan a bar code and come up with info on anything. Enjoy
